ProLogic II / IIx
Whether CD's, audio-cassettes, videos, TV programmes or AAC data - ProLogic ll replays every stereo programme in multi-channel surround irrespective from which sound source.
You get a realistic and enveloping sound through a 5.1 channel system with ProLogic ll. It expands the usual stereo sound to many of the merits of the multi-channel system Dolby-Digital. With its ingenious steering logic, ProLogic ll is a really unique decoder technology.
The original Dolby ProLogic decryption came from the 80's and worked on four channels - the front channels, left and right, the centre channel, and a mono surround channel that was mostly reproduced from two loudspeakers located in the back part of the room. The band width of transmission of the surround channel is limited; one part of the high frequency is not portrayed.
ProLogic ll clearly improves the sound - with separate stereo surround channels that transmit the whole audible range of frequencies, and with a considerably improved steering logic that guarantees a higher channel splitting and unusually stable sound characteristics.
