Input & Output
The world of the HomeCinema integrates most comprehensively our visualization of multimedia. That means that the coming application devices have to have all available input/output ports that you could possibly wish for. Whether you choose a complete system or just a single piece of equipment, a HomeCinema system is made up of the same units, although that depends on what you would like to install in the HomeCinema area: DVD player, TV device - e.g. satellite receiver, games console, digital camcorder, video recorder and others.
Usually, the DVD player is the first link in the chain of the "reproducers"
that are connected either directly, or via an audio-video amplifier to the
projector.
Which ports should your projector feature? Video input, S-video input, VGA
input, DVI input. Furthermore, some of the devices feature a 12 volt output
port for control of an automatic projection screen.
Your HomeCinema-Receiver should, for example, feature in and out ports for: optical and coaxial digital in/output, cinch video and cinch audio inputs and outputs, sub-woofer output, a 5:1 channel input port to connect up to a 5:1 channel analogue output port of a Dolby digital/MPEG decoder via a SCART port and a headphones port.
